the Games

The ability to see and use the computer is not something that’s taken for granted. I’m grateful for the ability to turn it on and use it. Blogging, and letters to my friends is how I spend my time out here in the country. An occasional movie for streaming is enough for a pass time. New to CADASIL? Shorter days is a positive. Who wants to be active eight hours daily? Originally my mornings were a couple hours for making scrambled eggs and toast. Now I’ll cut the time to scramble eggs and stop. Sitting down on my walker has become a routine. Brain fatigue is daily. Beats headaches or body physical pain. Accepting my cognitive duration has been recent. Thinking of what to share on this blog has taken a while. Thoughts of any more changes? Enjoying a beautiful sun rise has been a highlight of my day. Can’t say I enjoy sunsets. My day is over by then. Three o’clock comes around quickly. No sunset to watch. It’s bed time by then. My brain is exhausted by then to watch a movie or stream anything. Gotta Praise God for my day. Nothing like last year. Accepting the changes has become easier. I don’t argue about these differences. The theme for my life is peace and tranquility. Watching the Olympics is easier than streaming a movie. At least with the Olympics being held in Europe, gives me time to catch up with the various snow sports. Taking it slow is a good thing. No complaints on the pace of my day.

Jesus is the Savior

Jesus is my Refuge and strength. Need a redeemer? Jesus Christ redeemed me at age 22. Arguing with my redeemer was a conversation. I sought Him and waited Him to answer my prayers. He changed my heart which is a work in processed. In the state of Colorado check out Aurora Calvary Church. Pastor Ed & Marie Taylor. Originally from Southern California. They are intentionally at higher elevation. It snows one day. At higher elevation where the weather changes constantly. Windy in some areas clear sky’s in other areas. Gotta love the changes. Snow in some areas, rains in other areas. Give it a minute beautiful clear sky’s or cloudy. Just wait might be snow, or rain. I call it slush.

TRUST

Who do you trust?

Commercials on television might have a credit card or bank advertising. People like myself. Invite people to church gatherings. Invites to a conference, seminar or a simple picnic with activities.

Knowing who holds my tomorrows. It’s my opinion that God. The Creator of the universe. He created today and tomorrow. I can trust Him with everything. Since I know Him. I can’t see Him but I know He exists because of everything that has the breath of life. My husband, my family, our pets, cats and dogs. Life in general. If it needs a doctor or vet. God created it. Yes, you are created by God. Check out the links posted.

Trusting is a relationship issue not a religion. Do you have a relationship with God? For those of us who believe there is a God. How confident are you in your faith. Do you know your identity in Christ? Do you know you’re going to heaven? If you were to die and not wake up tonight will you wake up in heaven

Home, Real home

It’s a beautiful state to live in but check with your doctor. Higher elevation, clean air, well I can go on and as I have learned to live in beautiful Colorado. My only issue is neurological is possible loss of mobility, or vision, and speech. For today I can praise Him for my anatomy.

Our anatomies are unique. God created each of us uniquely. So, do you have lung issues? Struggle breathing? Can you breath without needing an oxygen machine? God has a plan and purpose for your life. Really. Can you be content with where you live? Or do you desire where other people live? The East Coast, Northwest, Midwest, the South Coast?

Stay content where you live. If God wants you to move. He’ll change your location. New job, a different position, an opportunity will represent itself.

Ask for wisdom. Ask God to reveal Himself to you, if you don’t believe in Him. He needed to be real to me, so I asked Him in prayer. I never thought of Him as Creator of the universe. I never thought of Him in that way but I’m asking you to test Him and talk to Him. I was crazy enough to ask Him my prayers. Guess what? He answered my prayers!

He granted me a part time shift at the department store, my college classes aligned with my new work schedule and my desire to finish college became present in my life again. So I kept my word to God got baptized. Jesus became my redeemer. We are all sinners. We are not perfect. Only the Son of God is perfect, that’s why Jesus died on the cross to redeem the world.

Ticket to Heaven?

Exciting to move to the city of Rush which is in the great plains of Colorado. It’s not Minnesota like the t.v series, Little House on the Prairie with Laura Ingells Wilder. As a child, I learned about families and unity from these family movies. As an adult I enjoy these family t.v series with a different perspective. The Walton’s are an awesome t.v. show as an adult. The religious perspective or mindset helps when sharing the Gospel to the world, none believers. It’s a to relationship, not a religion. Life changes such as attending college, leaving home to go off to war being a part of a community. The truth about religion, now we know that it’s a relationship with God. Sinner saved by Grace

Eternal Life

Do you know where your going?

I know Catholics visit the graves to their dead relatives. Jesus is alive and takes us to heaven. We don’t visit empty tombs. We are new creations and Jesus is the King who returns for His Church.

We are the church. He will come and get us. My friend Lois modeled Christianity by her character nature was alot like the Biblical reference Galatians 5:22-25

https://www.biblegateway.com/search=Galatians%205&version=NKJV

My missionary girlfriend is a pastor’s daughter and she knew how to live by the Spirit because that was how she was raised. T to desire people to know who Jesus Christ the Son of the living Christ.

The world needs to know He is their savior. Savior, to be saved. You might say save from what. I grew up knowing Jesus loves me, so I thought was good enough. I didn’t know I needed to be redeemed from my sins as a fornicator and murderer. Having the abortion means I killed my baby and did not allow it to have a life by growing nine months, a full term. My mindset at the time was the baby returned God and went to heaven. I knew Jesus loved me as a child but did not see myself as being saved from my sins.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 [g]gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. 24 And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.

Living a Christ centered life is not only to follow Jesus but to become more like the Son of God. Becoming more gentler and kinder, more like Jesus showing empathy and compassion

  • Heaven is real
  • God is judge, not me nor you.
  • Forgive people
  • Show compassion to everyone!

IT’S NOT FREE

Not taken for granted

Don’t take it for granted.

So rich in benefits. Only in the “land of the free and home of the brave” can I state we are rich and well taken care of by gencies federally funded, to take care of individuals such as myself. Matured citizen in society for granted disabilities or not. The government knows we need help after working many years in society. Not all people, throughout this world, live in a country which citizens intentionally pay into health benefits. The anticipation that health needs to be maintained. One body for life until. We terminate. We expire. We come to the end of our journey. Working during in our younger years allows us to prepare as we age in the days to come.

Don’t forget about where our tax dollars are spend. Health, housing, schools, parks. The list goes on and on but it’s to you to be mindful of the investments. This allows us to collect what as many benefits when we reach a senior age with modifications.

To have a husband who can help. Not everyone is married. Some have care give who are adult children who can help with day to day tasks. These are taken for granted some days but not all. I’m grateful to have a husband that can drive us to the grocery store and or doctor appointments as needed. Going to the Veterans Administrative hospital to me is like a bonus. I’m alive and get to breathe another day of life with my husband. In our home since we relocated from California to Colorado. So it’s not a home I have lived in since I was married. It’s home and I’m grateful to have a home. Serving four years in the military was a blessing in disguise. The driver’s license states I’m an Air Force Veteran. I still have a government picture I.D. which states the branch I served. The house I live in pending federal funds in order for the mortgage to be modified. Time is on our side, no complaints with the process of the review and completion of the timing.

Jesus is the Savior

Unity

I love my sisters but marriage makes it a unique dynamic. My husband keeps his relationships simple. He is an only child. He knows my sisters are not religious, nor spiritual. Well, only one sister is a practicing Catholic, her husband married her in a Court in California they will celebrate a one year anniversary in May. Hopefully a spiritual wedding will help them see themselves as one team. Just the church is one body in Christ, one spirit, one God.

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Philippians%202&version=NKJV

I love my sisters and it breaks my heart when one of them is being mean to the other.

Remember, I’m not God, therefore I’m not the judge between them. I remind the sister who’s been disrespected/hurt that God is omniscient, and that he sees everything.

Matthew 18:21-22

The Parable of the Unforgiving Servant

Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.

Jesus is the Savior

Are you spiritual? Do you believe in God? If you were in a car accident going home from work and your taken to the hospital and asked if you need to speak to a priest, Rabi or have you any last requests? Do you have a written advance directive? I want you to have eternal life. I want you to go to heaven. Think about it. Say these words. “Jesus forgive me for my sins, you know all of them, I believe you are the Son of God. Please help me and help me follow you. Tell someone if you have accepted Jesus as you Lord and Savior. Get baptized. Click on my home church’s link. I attend Calvarch Church in Aurora, Colorado.

Walking Forward

How do I walk forward?

Every three years I participate in a nine year CADASIL study

https://www.ninds.nih.gov/health-information/disorders/cadasil

Common symptoms of CADASIL include:

  • Migraine headaches with aura
  • Multiple strokes progressing to dementia
  • Confusion or coma (caused by acute encephalopathy, which can accompany CADASIL)
  • Progressive decline in memory and thinking skills
  • Mental health issues, including apathy, depression, and bipolar disorder

Less common symptoms of CADASIL include:

  • Seizures
  • Vision problems
  • Slow movements and tremors (parkinsonism)
  • Numbness or weakness
  • Rapid onset of vertigo, nausea/vomiting, and abnormal gait

The stroke I had in December 2024 was memorable and a reminder. I’m not God and He is in control. I’m surrendered to whatever He wants to do with me to testify and keep volunteering in the children’s ministry as He allows me to walk (mobility), talk(speech) and see (vision/sight).

I got double vision. It really gave me a scare I thought what next? God is in control of my anatomy. Yes, God allowed me to regain my sight. The double vision lasted one week. Crazy but humbling. He let’s me see. I got new glasses and the ophthalmologist said my eyes were like normal. Nothing negative other than having CADASIL. God! CADASIL! That’s sums it up. Brain is in control of my vision! Of course I had a stroke. The MRI, CAT scan were physical images that state I had a stroke. No argument there. The evidence are the images.

God is omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent. Definition of omniscient he knows everything. Omnipresence means all-present. This term means that God is capable of being everywhere at the same time. It means his divine presence encompasses the whole of the universe. The word omnipotent is having unlimited power and omnipresent and is the Great almighty God. Why underestimate Him? He knows your situation. He is real. He does exist. You are not a mistake. He created you with a plan and purpose. Testify why you believe?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sovereignty_of_God_in_Christianity#:~:text=Sovereignty%20of%20God%20in%20Christianity%20can%20be%20defined%20as%20the,of%20God%27s%20self%2Dimposed%20limitations.

He is sovereign. The reminder that He can do whatever He wants. I’m the daughter of King Jesus. I’m a child of God. You can also be His child just accept Him as the Lord of your life. He’s in control. He created the universe and you in it.

This stroke shook me up! Psalm 119 is the longest scripture which describes the God of the universe.

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Psalm%20119&version=NKJV

Salvation is believing Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He died on the cross to pay for our sins. No one is perfect. No matter what the diagnosis. You are not perfect and this is why Jesus died on the cross for everyone. No one is perfect. We all need a savior.

Psalm 139:8 New King James Version

If I ascend into heaven, You are there;
If I make my bed in [a]hell, behold, You are there.

Read and pray daily. Open your Bible daily. Talk to God daily and thank Him for the life He allows you to live.

Jesus is the Savior

1 John 3New King James Version

The Command to Love

Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of [a]God! Therefore the world does not know [b]us, because it did not know Him. Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.

Glorify Him Daily

Easier said than done. How do you glorify Him, God daily? Can you wake up and be thankful? God created each of us with a plan and purpose. Do you believe it?

President John F. Kennedy state,”What can you do for your country? Or the country can do for you? ” Something like that.

https://www.britannica.com/biography/John-F-Kennedy

I ask you, “What can you do for God today?”What glorifies Him? How does He get the glory in your life? What is glory? Oxford definition: take great pride or pleasure in.

So what gives God pleasure in your activity? Are you enjoying nature. Did you know God created everything? Do you believe what the Bible states about Genesis?

Genesis 1 (NKJV):

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness [a]was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Genesis%201&version=NKJV

So what! Who cares, what’s the big deal you might ask? The woods, great plains, beaches, lakes, streams? All living creatures? Creatures in the ocean and land? Are you shut indoors by choice, or are health issues limiting you to move physical? How about a window view? Please forgive me, I’m not judging. I’m simply asking the question.

I don’t know what holds you back. Desire to want to move and check out your surroundings? Desire or not the choice is yours. So what are you doing today for his glory?

How does God get the glory in your daily activity? Do you question you plan and purpose? Self reflection question. As a Christian my identity is in my Savior, Jesus Christ. God sent Jesus to die on the cross for our salvation. Believing Jesus is the Son of God and that He died just to save me from my sins. Sins.

Are you a good witness to the world around you? Can they see Jesus in your behavior?Easier said than done. How do you glorify Him, God daily? Can you wake up and be thankful? God created each of us with a plan and purpose. Do you believe it? I believe it

16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

However you live your life today, think about giving God the glory.

REFRESHED

This is how I feel after God had restored my vision. From double vision to normal.

He allows me to see, walk and talk. Thank you Jesus for restoring my sight.

Praising God for the ability to volunteer in the Sunday School classroom. To testify in the women’s Bible study for His glory, not mine. I get no credit for volunteering. I just want to still have the ability to function and serve in the body of Christ. Praising Go that I can volunteer!

https://www.mdcalc.com/calc/715/nih-stroke-scale-score-nihss

I had a stroke prior to new year December 27th 2024. In the form of double vision. Yes the brain controls vision. I didn’t know it was a stroke. I was very fearful that I would have to live with this new vision. I praise God who healed me of the vision and to be able to see and still use my reading glasses and distant glasses.

My husband insisted that I go to the ER. So I agreed to go to the VA and was seen by their ER staff on 12/30 and stayed overnight for a CAT SCAN and an MRI for images of what was causing the double vision. My husband was hopeful and positive. I was reluctant since CADASIL has no cure, no treatment. So I got to spend the night at the VA and was dismissed after 7 pm Tuesday night. The New Year was brought in by sleeping in our own bed comfortable. Home sweet home. Now I can wait till 3/24/25 for optomology to check out my optic nerves. Just in case there might be more to help me maintain a quality of life.

God is in control of my anatomy. He created me with a plan and purpose. This is why I testify about Him. This is why I believe in Him.

Are you a spiritual person? What do you believe? Jesus is the Son of God. Jesus is my Lord and Savior. Check out my home church in Aurora, Colorado.

Your choice. Are you going to heaven? Or are you going to hell? Talk to the Creator, who created you with a plan and purpose. You have free will.

Salvation is FREE.
